D1062 is due to be repainted in maroon with half yellows in May 2008. The locomotive should be ready to transfer down to Kidderminster at the end of April, where it is estimated that 300 man hours will be required to flat, clean, undercoat, gloss apply transfers & lettering. The work will be undertaken by the SVR.

Excellent news.

'Inspector Biffo' ['Jeff' - I don't know him] posted today on the SVR forum that D821 is being painted in the open, and he was lamenting the weather.

Following a discussion with Hugh McQuade, it is likely that D1062 will be sent down to the paint shop at Kidderminster during w/c 12th May 2008.

The first stage of D1062's repaint has now been completed with the bogies and wheels now in gloss black. The loco is still expected to visit Kidderminster Carriage Shop during w/c 12th May for the bodywork repaint.

Will be good to see it back with half yellows! Been a while since we had a half yellow maroon western on the valley!

Will look the part with 821 in same livery!

D1062 visit to Kidderminster has been put back a couple of weeks due to the current workload in the C & W Dep't. The move will now take place on Friday, 30th May 2008. Times have been agreed as follows:-

BH d 11//26
HY 11/46
BY a 12.06
BY d 12x11
KR a 12//21

Painting of D1062 is due to start around w/c 16 June 2008. In the meantime the loco is safely tucked away and not in KR yard!

Unfortunately, the repaint has been put back due to the present work load in the C & W dep't. However, the SVR have assured us that the work will be carried out ASAP, which will probably be towards the end of June.

Any more news on the repaint?
Is the August running date still looking likely, and if it is, will this Saturday be D1013's last running day for a while?
